About the systems

  • DrainTalent gives you active control over the soil’s moisture levels. This keeps the pitch more stable, improves its playability and makes it less susceptible to the effects of the weather. Depending on the conditions, this can result in up to 600 hours of playability per year on natural grass, with fewer match cancellations and better pitch quality.

  • The system can operate largely automatically and adjusts 24/7 based on real-time weather data from an integrated weather station. A digital dashboard, accessible remotely, gives you continuous insight into the data from both the weather station and the moisture sensors. If necessary, you can easily make manual adjustments.

  • Traditional drainage is passive and simply carries water away, meaning you are dependent on the natural behaviour of water within the soil profile. DrainTalent is an active, circular soil management system. It accelerates water extraction through vacuum drainage and enables subsurface irrigation. This gives you control over the moisture balance, making you less dependent on the weather.

  • By combining DrainTalent with SIS Heat Dynamic, you gain control over both moisture and temperature, two key factors for grass growth. Additionally, by controlling the moisture content in the soil, you ensure that the pitch heating system operates more efficiently. This results in significant savings on operational costs and a more stable pitch.

  • SIS Heat Dynamic generates heat directly where it is needed, minimising energy loss. Compared with traditional hydronic systems, energy consumption can be significantly lower; in many cases by more than 60 per cent.

Thanks to the efficient and fully electric operation of SIS Heat Dynamic, its lower energy consumption and reduced maintenance costs result in cost savings compared with traditional systems. Significant savings have already been achieved in real-world projects.

  • Thanks to its electrical operation, the system has a very short response time. The temperature can be adjusted quickly and accurately in line with current weather conditions, thereby preventing unnecessary energy consumption and ensuring the pitch remains in optimal playing condition.

Sustainability

  • DrainTalent enables circular water management, and its subsurface irrigation feature further reduces water consumption compared with traditional irrigation methods. Water is supplied from below, thereby minimising evaporation. When combined with a water buffer, water can be reused, further improving water-use efficiency. This supports the achievement of sustainability targets and environmental requirements.

  • Energy consumption depends on several factors, such as the venue soil type, pitch usage and weather conditions.

Generally speaking, DrainTalent consumes more energy when actively extracting water than when using the subsurface irrigation feature. Compared with traditional irrigation systems, energy consumption may be lower, as no high water pressure is required.

A realistic estimate of the expected energy consumption can be made based on your specific situation.

  • Water buffering depends on the local conditions and the specific requirements of the sports pitch. DrainTalent can be combined with various solutions, such as underground buffers or reservoirs. Based on the available space, soil composition and water requirements, we recommend the most suitable solution for the efficient storage and reuse of water.

  • DrainTalent helps to create optimal growing conditions for the grass 24/7. A balanced moisture content and subsurface irrigation result in a strong and healthy turf.

Water is delivered from below to the root zone, keeping the surface of the pitch drier. This significantly reduces the risk of mould growth. At the same time, a strong and well-developed turf reduces the chances of weeds taking hold.

  • The system is fully electric and suitable for use with renewable energy sources. Compared with traditional gas-fired systems, CO₂ emissions can be significantly reduced. This allows you to directly contribute to the energy transition.

  • The system is designed to require minimal maintenance. As there are no pumps, valves or fluid circuits, there are fewer parts prone to wear and tear. Furthermore, localised damage does not affect the overall system operation, meaning that the heating function remains intact.
