Go Ahead Eagles

Jun. 11, 2024

Go Ahead Eagles, founded in 1902, are a Dutch professional football club from the city of Deventer in the province of Overijssel. They play in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football, after promoting from the Eerste Divisie in the 2020/2021 season. The club’s home stadium is De Adelaarshorst, since 1920. Go Ahead have won the Eredivisie title on four occasions in the club’s history.

About the project

Next to stadium De Adelaarshorst there is one full-size pitch, and another half-size pitch. Those are the training pitches of the first team. The half-size pitch will be replaced by a parking lot. That means the main training pitch will be used even more intensively. To make the pitch suitable for that, a better drainage system that regulates the conditions of the pitch was needed. Because of the location of the training pitch next to the stadium, these two pitches can be controlled with a single DrainTalent Pro unit. Both pitches will be converted to hybrid pitches, which makes the grass a lot more stable. A water buffer will be built under the future car park to store the excess water drained by the DrainTalent unit, to be used later to irrigate the pitches.
